The "O Peregrino” restaurant has a new menu, inspired by the concept of authentic cuisine. Prepared using typical regional products, the dishes combine a contemporary touch with the tradition and authenticity of Portuguese gastronomy.

The restaurant’s new menu, created by the prize-winning chef José Júlio Vintém, is intended for connoisseurs of Alentejo gastronomy who value the origin and quality of the products.

Driven by the slogan “I cook by pure instinct... 70% intuition, 30% inspiration”, the hotel’s new chef and gastronomic consultant is sure to surprise customers with his individual cuisine. It will be a struggle to resist the delicacies!

Chef José Júlio Vintém

Jos_Jlio_VintmChef José Júlio Vintém is the talent responsible for the “Tomba Lobos” Restaurant in Portalegre (2001). The chef’s main motivations are to create a top-quality regional menu and promote Alentejo gastronomy.

José Júlio Vintém is committed to an original regional cuisine in which certified Alentejo regional products are his main raw material.

The winner of various national awards in the original cuisine category, in 2009 José Júlio Vintém was awarded the Prémio Carreira Gastronomia (Gastronomy Career Prize) by Mais Alentejo magazine. On top of this, his “Tomba Lobos” restaurant was elected Best Restaurant of the Year (2007 and 2008).
