The Hotel Caminhos de Santiago is the result of a bold restoration project. The former ‘Pousada’ in Santiago do Cacém, classified as a building of public interest, has been replaced by a new contemporary building designed by the architect Francisco Aires Mateus, for which he was awarded the Municipal Prize for Architecture in 2008.
Located in Santiago do Cacém, in the heart of coastal Alentejo, the hotel offers a stunning view of the sea, the castle and the historical town of Santiago. It is close to the beaches on the Alentejo coast extending from Porto Covo to Tróia. With 33 rooms, two suites and a swimming pool, the hotel has a menu and wine list that combine the flavours and aromas of fusion cuisine with traditional Alentejo gastronomy. The chef in the "O Peregrino" restaurant is José Júlio Vintém. The Hotel Caminhos de Santiago brings together the best of the past and the present. It is the ideal retreat for those in search of a peaceful or romantic weekend, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. |
